These space colony concept drawings were the result of collaboration between Princeton physicist Gerard O’Neill, the NASA Ames Research Center and Stanford University in the 1970’s. They held a series of space colony summer studies which explored the possibilities of humans living in giant orbiting spaceships.

WOW.

Samurai Jack layouts- part 1

thanks to my friend Julian I’ve got tons o these to upload. They’re absolutely amazing , if you need inspiration on how to put mood into your backgrounds look no further then this show. The first one I uploaded is my fav…you get such a sense of loneliness its heartbreaking.  The environments for this show were stunning , when it was desolate you really got the feeling he could walk for weeks and not come across a single soul.

“Ernest and Celestine” just won the Cesar award of Best french animated film.

This is a wonderful feature film directed by Benjamin Renner, Vincent Patar and Stephane Aubier.

Eyvind Earle (1916-2000.) Earle was a painter, illustrator, and author. He also worked in the animation industry at Disney during the 1950’s. Animations he worked on included “Peter Pan”, “Sleeping Beauty”, and “Lady and the Tramp.” What I love about his work is his whimsical shapes, the color choices, and the surreal feeling of his images. Wonderful stuff. To view more I’ve provided a link to his gallery in Wikipaintings where most of these are from. Enjoy!
